This amendment limits when a state can be sued. In particular, no foreigners or any people not living in the state cannot sue the state.
The 13th Amendment
This amendment abolished slavery and other controlled workers.
The 15th Amendment
This amendment provided all men, regardless of color and race, the power to vote.
The 17th Amendment
This amendment upheld that all senators would be directly elected.
The 19th Amendment
This amendment gave all women the power to vote. This amendment is sometimes known as Women's Suffrage.
The 21st Amendment
This amendment repealed the eighteenth amendment. This amendment also concluded that alcoholic beverages could be sold and bought in the United States.
The 23rd Amendment
This amendment established the District of Columbia as part of the Electoral College. This amendment also granted the District of Columbia three electoral votes.
The 25th Amendment
This amendment clarifies in even more detail about the succession of the president. The 24th Amendment also defines certain certain rules to the President if he/she is unable to perform his/her duties.
The 27th Amendment
This amendment limits Congressional salary. This amendment states that Congressional salary or the payment to members of Congress cannot be put in effect until the next election.
The 12th Amendment
The amendment changed the way we vote for the president. Specifically, this amendment said that electors shall meet first and cast their votes for President and Vice President.
The 14th Amendment
This amendment defined a US citizen. It also limited the powers of the states by upholding that states cannot deduct the rights of citizens and gives all citizens equality under the law.
The 16th Amendment
This amendment gave the government the power to collect income taxes.
The 18th Amendment
This amendment banned all alcoholic and all alcoholic concentrated drinks and beverages in the United States of America.
The 20th Amendment
This amendment defined the start and end of the terms of all federal officers, including the members of Congress and the President. It also presents what would be done when a President died before being inaugurated.
The 22nd Amendment
This amendment limited the amount of time a President can serve to two terms or eight years or ten years(in which the Vice President takes the place of a the President.)
The 24th Amendment
This amendment banned poll taxes and said that a person should not be taxed in order to vote.
The 26th Amendment
This amendment established the voting age to 18 or over.
